"Run to Sturgis" 2013

the essence of the tour!
There are 2 places in the world where every biker should go at least once : Daytona Beach and Sturgis.
Both events serve up a different spirit. - Daytona is Chrome & sparkles by the sea. - Sturgis is the biker's way of life, comradery, love of everything relating to motorbikes and some fantastic rides in the Black hills, only interrupted by the party atmosphere in Sturgis and Deadwood, the shows, the saloons and the concerts.
We start the Ride to Sturgis from Salt Lake City (American Fork), the trip itself, like most of our tours, is fully guided, apart from the time in Deadwood/Sturgis where the you are free to ride at your own pace or park the bike and take in the unique atmosphere of Sturgis.
Not only Salt Lake City, 'The Mormon Vatican', but landmarks like Grand Teton, Yellowstone National Park, Cody the hometown of Buffalo Bill & his rodeo, Devils Tower, Custer Park with millions of bison (buffalo), Crazy Horse Memorial, Bear Bute State Park, The Badlands and the spectacular Rocky Mountains National Park and new on the itinerary, Dinosaur National Park.
During the Sturgis Rally, we'll stay on the main street of Deadwood, a small cowboy town where Wild Bill Hickok & Calamity Jane are both laid to rest and only 12 miles from Sturgis itself..
Here we will kick off our boots and party 100%.

This morning we pickup our bikes, leave American Fork behind and ride past the many ski resorts on curvy winding roads. |
 Now we are in country sides full of wildlife, we visit Dinosaurland NP and finish up with some great lakeside rides. |
 We enter Rocky Mountain NP, keep your cameras handy, there are kodak moments around each bend as we climb to 12,183 feet (3,713m) before we descend into the ski resort of Estes Park for lunch. |
 By now you will be part of a larger group, individuals and friends all riding towards a common goal, Sturgis. |

 Today we will swing into the Devils Tower National Park |
 A very short ride today, but on purpose, as Cody is home of the Buffalo Bill Historical Center & the famous Firearms Museum, and you will need to spend some time here, it is HUGE. |
 Now we are in for the BIG WOW FACTOR! |
 You have a chance to visit the Bear & Wolf Habitat before you ride back into Yellowstone, and today you will ride to Old Faithful and through some of the bussiest hot spring areas of the park, in 2010 we saw moose, elk, lots of bison and a black bear plus various smaller wildlife. |
OK, last stretch, a nice ride back into American Fork where we return our bikes, shuttle back to our Salt Lake City hotel and have a few beers and talk about the tour we just had.. |
 That's it, tours over.. you are free to stay, fly home or carry on on your adventures!! |
