Day by Day on the Road!
Day 1: Havana [Arrival]
Welcome to Havana, Cuba finally opens its doors to us.
Day 2: Viñales [237km]
We pick up our motorbikes and we are ‘en route’ to the picturesque western part of the island. Las Terrazas forest has been a national park since 1971. Preserved lush nature and we have a lunch break with an opportunity to swim at the foot of waterfalls. In the afternoon, we continue our way to the heart of the beautiful scenery surrounding Viñales.
Day 3: Viñales [60km]
Viñales is famous for its green valleys dotted with limestone hills covered with vegetation! The region is one of the most unique landscapes in Cuba. We take our time visiting caves and tobacco plantations.
Day 4: Playa Larga [360km]
On our way to the Bay of Pigs, the Mecca of the "Cuban victory against US imperialism".
In April 1961, Cuban exiles backed by the CIA landed at the Bay to counter the Castro revolution. It was a failure that strengthened the government of Prime Minister of Cuba Fidel Castro.
Our hotel it is situated on the beach, making it easy to go for a dip after a long day on the road.
Day 5: Trinidad [210km]
After leaving our hotel, we will observe the underwater treasures in the Cueva de los Peces, a 70m deep gorge with bounties of colorful fish. A stop at Cienfuegos, a small town rich in historic buildings, we have an opportunity to take lunch in “Paladar" restaurant, a local hotspot by the ocean.
We will ride to Trinidad along the splendid coastline.
Day 6: Trinidad [Free Day] [approx. 100km]
Today, everyone decides how they prefer to spend the day.
Trinidad and the "Valley of Sugar Mills" are World Heritage Sites since 1988.
So by foot, motorcycle or on horseback, here you can see everything.
Lazing on the beach is an option too.
Day 7: Santa Clara [157km]
This morning our bikes takes on the summits of "Collantes National Park" where lush vegetation opens to canyons and waterfalls.
After the intoxication of tropical nature, we head towards Santa Clara and its memorial "Monumento Ernesto Che Guevara". His image undoubtedly the most widespread symbol of freedom in the world.
Day 8: Coco Cay [221km]
On our way to famous Coco Cay!
A first class Caribbean paradise. Kilometres of sandy beaches running into turquoise blue water. Do not forget your speedos.
Day 9: Camaguey [212km]
The road leads to “Ciego de Avila”.
Intact and authentic, it offers us an opportunity to understand the lifestyle of Cuban and savor a coffee break. Then we reach Camaguey, which with its 300,000 inhabitants, is the 3rd largest town on the island.
The panorama is structured around countless sugarcane plantations. Originally founded on the coast, the town moved twice to avoid the frequent pirate raids.
Day 10: Santiago de Cuba [340 km]
We ride the Carretera Central, the main arterial road of the island.
Once in Santiago, we enjoy the amazing atmosphere of this city, considered by many Cubans as the most beautiful town on the island.
Day 11: Baracoa [283km]
Today we enter one of the most isolated areas of the island: the province of Guantanamo.
A wet, tropical climate, with lush vegetation, curves galore, a revered riding experience not to be missed!
Then, Baracoa, the entry point chosen of Christopher Columbus when he discovered Cuba. We are at the end of the island, a little like, at the end of the world!
Day 12: Santiago de Cuba [237km]
One of the most beautiful mountain roads of the island takes us back towards the south coast and offers countless curves and stunning views.
We reach Santiago early enough to stroll through the narrow streets of "The Musical Heart" of the island. Santiago is home to many musicians including the famous "Buena Vista Social Club". We hand our bikes back!
Day 13: Havana [Domestic Flight]
A quick flight back to Havana. Leaving the afternoon free to visit the old city of Havana.
Day 14: Havana [Departure]
After breakfast, you are free to travel to your next adventure..
